Zimbabwe e-Visa: Basic information

Zimbabwe eVisa is an electronic visa introduced by the country's government to speed up the border control process and make visa processing easier.
Zimbabwe visa online comes in three different types:
  • a single entry,
  • a double entry and
  • KAZA UNIVISA.
Single and double entry e-visas can be used for a validity period of 90 days (when traveling for tourist purposes), while KAZA UNIVISA allows its holder to visit Zimbabwe and Zambia for a validity period of 30 days.
 
Travelers should check the list of eligible countries to see if they can apply for an electronic visa to travel to Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe e-Visa holders can stay in the country for tourism, business and transit purposes.
The length of stay varies depending on the electronic visa type chosen and the purpose of the visit.
 
Online visa to Zimbabwe costs 69 euros, 89 euros or 99 euros. Below are more details on prices, validity periods, and descriptions of the available eVisa types.

If you want to visit Zimbabwe, you can apply for the following e-visa:

  1. Holiday visa. This visa allows you to temporarily enter Zimbabwe for tourism purposes, to visit friends and family, or for other personal purposes that do not include paid work, etc.
  2. Conference visa. This visa allows you to enter Zimbabwe to attend a conference, seminar or workshop. This visa is issued for 30 days and cannot be extended.
  3. Student visa. This visa allows you to enter the country and continue your studies at any local school or university.
  4. Business visa. This visa allows you to enter the country to carry out short-term business activities, such as providing services. This visa is issued for thirty (30) days and cannot be extended.
  5. Transit visa. This visa is issued to people traveling to another country and who will make a short stopover in Zimbabwe for transit purposes only. Transit visas are not extended.
Before starting the online Zimbabwe visa application process, make sure you have a valid passport and other necessary supporting documents.
Only countries marked with “*” need to provide additional documents with their application.
 
Check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your intended date of entry into Zimbabwe.

  3. After registering, proceed to log in to the panel.
  4. Once you are logged in, navigate to the menu on the left side of the panel.
  5. Select the “Visa Application Form” option from the menu.
  6. Fill out this form with the required information.
  7. Finally, submit the completed form.

Visitors to Zimbabwe who are citizens of eVisa-eligible countries can choose one of three visa types online. The validity period varies depending on which one you choose.
 
  • Single-entry and double-entry electronic visas stay valid for 90 days (3 months) from the issue date if the travelers use it for tourism purposes. If you need to go to Zimbabwe for business-related reasons, your entry permit will stay effective for one month (30 days).
  • the KAZA UNIVISA is a multiple-entry permit that allows visits both in Zimbabwe and Zambia. This online visa type will be valid for 30 days from the date of its issue.
Reminder!
Remember that your passport must not expire at least six months after your intended date of entry into Zimbabwe.
Transit through Zimbabwe requires a valid online transit visa processed before departure and a valid passport.
 
Please note!
An electronic visa is not required if the traveler does not leave the airport transit area. Remember to register a few days before your planned trip to transit through Zimbabwe without any hassle.
Two documents a valid passport and an approved eVisa will need to be presented to customs officers at Zimbabwe airport for verification.
 
Physical fitness, among those mentioned, will be required.

KAZA UNIVISA

 Kaza Univisa is a multiple-entry online visa valid for 30 days from date of issue and allows stay in Zimbabwe for the purposes of:

  • tourism
  • business
  • transit

KAZA UNIVISA holders can cross the border using one of the following border crossing points:

Required documents for e-Visa

If you are applying for an e-Visa for a holiday in Zimbabwe, you must submit the following documents:

  1. Your passport. It must be valid for at least 6 months.
  2. Copy of passport bio-data page. You must attach a copy of your passport biography page.
  3. Proof of address. You must provide proof that you are a resident of your country.
  4. Proof of accommodation. You must provide proof of where you will stay once in the country.
  5. Previous Zimbabwe visa (if applicable).

For travelers whose hosts are Zimbabwean citizens/residents:

  1. Invitation letter from the host.
  2. Proof of address.
  3. Residence status. This includes their identity card or residence permit.

If you are applying for a Student e-Visa, you will need the following documents:

  1. Passport.
  2. Scan passport bio page.
  3. Letter of acceptance from school/college.
  4. Previous visa/permit (if any)

If you are applying for a Business e-Visa, you will need the following documents:

  1. A picture. It should be the size of a passport.
  2. Scan passport bio page.
  3. Proof of residence in the country of origin.
  4. Invitation letter and your company profile.
  5. Business letter from company in your country.
  6. Previous Zimbabwe visa (if applicable).

If you are applying for a Conference e-Visa, you will need the following documents:

  1. A picture. It should be the size of a passport.
  2. Scan passport biodata page.
  3. Proof of residence in the country of origin.
  4. Proof of previous Zimbabwean visa (if applicable).
  5. Invitation cards.

If you are applying for a transit e-Visa, you must submit the following documents:

  1. Identification photo of yourself.
  2. Scan the biodata page of your passport.
  3. Proof of residence in your destination country.
  4. Purpose of trip to destination country. You may be asked to provide evidence.

Important Information

  • Applicants must apply for a Zimbabwe visa online at least 3 working days in advance.
  • Each traveler wishing to visit Zimbabwe must have their own e-visa (including children).
  • Travelers do not need to apply for an eVisa for transit purposes if they do not leave the transit area at the airport.
  • Once approved, the Zimbabwe e-visa must be printed and brought to the airport to present to customs officers.
