Singapore e-Visa: Basic information

Singapore e-visa is an electronic visa that serves as a mandatory document when crossing the border into Singapore.
The e-visa application must be processed by the e-visa authority or local Singapore contact person.
 
The Singapore Government has introduced an e-visa system to help citizens from 36 eligible countries obtain their visas completely online after completing a fast application process at home.
Singapore e-Visa serves as a single entry visa valid for 30 days from the date of issue and allows 30 days of residence in Singapore.
Because an online visa is required to be able to travel to Singapore; Travelers should apply at least 3 days before their trip to ensure they will receive their travel permit on time.
Each applicant will receive the approved Singapore e-Visa via email as a PDF file.
Then, visitors must print it and bring it with them to the airport to present to customs officials upon arrival.
 
Important update!
Singapore authorities require most arriving travelers to complete an SG Immigration Card.
Remember that this is a health declaration and not a visa equivalent.
If you are a citizen of a non-visa-exempt country, you will need to have both documents.
There is only one e-visa in Singapore that allows the holder to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days (one month).
Visitors are allowed to use online visas for the following purposes:
  • tourism: dedicated for all tourists to visit their friends and relatives, go on vacation, or explore the country for up to 30 days
  • business: to handle your business matters, negotiate contracts and cooperations, or conduct any professional activities

Visitors to Singapore for business must attach additional Form V39A, i.e.
Letter of Introduction to apply for a visa.
 
The letter must be written by a Singapore citizen or resident of at least 21 years of age and on behalf of a Singapore registered business entity with whom you will be doing business.
 
If you are unable to receive a letter of intent from your local contact in Singapore, a letter of intent issued by the Embassy is also acceptable.
Citizens of countries that require a visa to Singapore must apply at least 3 working days before their visit.

Once prepared, follow this e-Visa application guide to quickly get your e-Visa approved:
  1. Have your valid documents on hand and start by choosing the purpose of your visit using the panel click on the  “LOGIN” button which can be found in the menu on the right side of the screen.
  2. If you haven’t registered yet, please register yourself first. After registering, proceed to log in to the panel.
  3. Once you are logged in, navigate to the menu on the left side of the panel.
  4. Select the “Visa Application Form” option from the menu.
  5. Fill out this form with the required information.
  6. Finally, submit the completed form.
  7. Wait for up to 72 hours (3 business days) for your electronic Singapore visa to be approved. Once it’s processed, the e-Visa will be delivered in PDF version at the email address you have provided in an online form. Lastly, print the received document and have it with you on your travel to Singapore.

Required documents for e-Visa

This section contains crucial information regarding the required documents that need to be prepared before making an online visa application. Prepare the listed documents and attach them to your application form.

Every traveler should attach the following documents to their e-Visa application:

  • a photo of the applicant's valid passport bio-data page
  • applicant's face photograph that can be easily taken using a phone or a PC camera

Make sure to upload a photo taken within the last 3 months from applying.

Please note! In some cases, travelers must attach an additional V39A form, which is a letter written by a local contact in Singapore. The local contact must be either a Singapore citizen or permanent resident and be at least 21 years old.

For all business travels, the Letter of Introduction for Visa Application must be written by a local contact that acts on behalf of a business entity registered in Singapore.

In case you would not be able to obtain the LOI from a local contact from Singapore, LOIs issued by Embassies are also accepted.

  • Singapore online visa processing time can take up to 72 hours (3 working days); apply at least 3 working days before travel to receive entry permit on time
