Nigeria e-Visa: Basic information
The Nigerian e-visa is an electronic visa that can be issued entirely online allowing the visa holder to stay in Nigeria for tourism, business and transit purposes.
The e-visa system was introduced in Nigeria to help foreign tourists visit the African country in the easiest way possible.
There are three types of Nigerian e-visas.
There are single and multiple entry online visas that are valid for 90 days and can be issued for tourism and business purposes.
The third type of online visa for Nigeria is the 7-day transit visa.
All eligible travelers can now facilitate the processing of their travel authorization documents using the Nigerian e-visa system by completing the online application form with requested data.
Travelers can use any functional device to apply for a Nigerian visa online and receive the necessary documents via email.
Applicants who have applied will receive a pre-approved Nigerian e-visa.
Once the email containing the documents has been sent, you must make an appointment at the nearest Nigerian embassy to receive your e-Visa.

- Visa-free transit.
- This visa allows you to stay in Nigeria for up to 48 hours.
- Not allowed to enter Nigeria.
- Business.
- This is a single-entry visa.
- The maximum time you can stay in the country with this visa is 90 days.
- Business (regular travel executive visa).
- There are single-entry visas and multiple-entry visas.
- It allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days per entry.
- One of the conditions for obtaining this visa is an investment of at least $250,000 in Nigeria.
- You can also get it from the Nigerian consulate or from the Visa on Arrival (VoA) scheme, although it only applies to a limited number of nationalities.
- Tourist visa.
- This is a single-entry visa.
- You can stay in the country for up to 90 days with this visa.
- Journalist visa.
- This is a single-entry visa.
- The maximum stay with this type of visa is 90 days.
- Medical tourist visa.
- This is a single-entry visa.
- The maximum stay with this type of visa is 90 days.
- Religious tourist visa.
- This is a single-entry visa that allows you to stay in the country for 90 days.
- Sports visa.
- This is a single-entry visa, valid for a short-term visit of 90 days.
- Artist visa.
- This is a single-entry visa.
- Student visa.
- This visa allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days.
- This is a single-entry visa.
- Academic Exchange Program (AEP) Visa.
- This is a single-entry visa.

- International cultural exchange visa.
- This visa is a single-entry visa.
- It allows you to stay in the country for 90 days.
- Humanitarian service visa.
- This visa is single-entry, allowing a maximum stay of 90 days.
- Emergency/relief work visa.
- This visa is single entry and allows you to stay in the country for 90 days.
- This only applies to a limited number of nationalities.
- Employee of the international non-governmental organization Visa.
- This is a one-time entry and allows you to stay in the country for 90 days.
- Employee of the non-governmental organization Visa.
- This visa is a single entry.
- The maximum number of days you can stay in the country is 90 days.
- Nigerians returning on birth visas.
- This visa is a single and multiple reciprocity visa.
- You can stay up to 90 days per entry.
- Before applying, make sure you apply for the correct visa.
- The purpose of your trip must match the type of visa you are applying for.
- If your country is listed as eligible, click the “Sign In” button in the menu on the right side of the screen.
- If you have not registered yet, please register first.
- After registering, log in to the control panel.
- Once logged in, navigate to the menu on the left side of the dashboard.
- Select the “Visa application form” option from the menu.
- Complete this form with the required information.
- Finally, submit the completed application form.
Once you have completed the application process and received the necessary documents, collect your e-visa from the nearest embassy.

Required documents for e-Visa
Make sure you have the following documents to apply for a Nigerian e-Visa:
Passport: It must be valid for at least 6 months.
Photograph: Your face must be clearly visible.
Demonstrate financial: You must be able to demonstrate that you can support yourself during your time in the country.
Return plane ticket: You must provide a departure ticket stating that you are leaving Nigeria and will not extend your stay.
Invitation letter from host/company to Nigeria.
They must declare that they accept immigration responsibility.
