Things to know before a trip to non-visa-free countries

If your destination is not on the list of visa-free countries, make sure to get an electronic visa, visa on arrival or regular visa:

  • Applying for a visa is mandatory, so make sure you have one so you can enter the country without any problems;
  • reviews the requirements for your destination and decides which type of visa you need (transit visa, business visa or tourist visa);
  • notes that a visit to the embassy may not be mandatory as citizens of some countries may apply for a visa online or visa on arrival;
  • visa application in advance, so if there is a problem with the application extending processing time, you still have time before traveling;
  • Visa issues may attract your attention, but don't forget your passport: it must be valid and blank for stamping.

Do you have to research the different visa requirements of each country before going on a trip?
