Visa Requirements for South Korean Citizens

Visa requirements for Korean citizens are the rules and regulations that determine whether Korean citizens need a visa to enter a selected country. Each destination says who can enter its territory and what the regulations are.

Korean passport holders have remarkable freedom of international travel, with over a hundred countries visa-free to enter.
Additionally, nearly 30 other destinations welcome Korean citizens on e-visas, and more than 40 destinations offer visa-on-arrival options.
Traditional visas are only required when Korean citizens visit about 20 destinations, including Nigeria, Turkmenistan and China. Regular visas are only obtained by going to the embassy and going through a complicated application process.
South Korea has an additional travel category: a list of countries that Korean citizens cannot currently visit. Seven destinations are out of reach for Korean passport holders, including Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan and Yemen. All short-term travel, i.e. eVisas, visa on arrival and visa-free entry, allow Korean passport holders to stay abroad generally for up to 90 days (three months). Another commonly used stay option is 30 days. However, the exact maximum stay varies depending on the country selected.
More information about each visa type and its requirements for Korean citizens is available below.
