Visa Requirements for Azerbaijani Citizens

Visa requirements for Azerbaijani citizens are pre-established rules and conditions by foreign governments that apply to the entry of Azerbaijani citizens.

Current entry rules are set by each country and may change over time.
Some destinations still require Azerbaijani passport holders to present a valid embassy visa when crossing the border, others offer them a visa-on-arrival system; Some let you apply for an eVisa online, while others offer visa-free entry.

Azerbaijani passport holders do not have maximum freedom when traveling abroad.
Azerbaijan has visa-free access to more than 30 countries, 29 additional visas on arrival and 25 e-visa options available.
Unfortunately, over a hundred destinations still only allow Azerbaijani citizens to enter upon presentation of a valid embassy visa upon arrival.

The easiest visa option to get is the eVisa, as the entire process can be done online.
On the other hand, visa on arrival seems easy to get but also comes with long queues and uncertainty.
The most difficult visa to get is the traditional visa that requires multiple visits to the embassy.

More information about each visa type, specific visa requirements and country list can be found below.

Visiting any of the destinations listed above requires applying for a regular visa at least several weeks before arrival.

Applying for a regular visa is a seemingly complicated process but is unfortunately necessary when visiting over a hundred destinations from Azerbaijan.

This process can vary from country to country, but generally requires the applicant to gather all necessary supporting documents (which will confirm the intended purpose of travel), fill out the application form, and submit Full documents for the embassy.

The application form can be accessed by visiting the official government website of the country selected for access.
The embassy visa will then be processed (if no additional steps are required, including a visa interview) and processing time can take up to several weeks.
Therefore, it is essential to apply in advance (at least a few weeks before your planned trip) and check specific processing times and requirements before applying to stay abroad .
