Tanzania e-Visa: Basic information
- Tourist eVisa: that allows all tourism-related visits, such as exploring Tanzania, discovering the tourist destinations. It also includes family/friends visits.
- Transit eVisa: for all transit purposes. It allows all travelers to stay in Tanzania for 7 days when transiting to another country. It does not allow tourism usage.
Both are single entry permits; The online tourist visa allows a stay of 90 days and the transit visa is 7 days.
- Begin by clicking on the “Login” button, which can be found in the menu on the right side of the screen.
- If you haven’t registered yet, please register yourself first.
- After registering, proceed to log in to the panel.
- Once you are logged in, navigate to the menu on the left side of the panel.
- Select the “Visa Application Form” option from the menu.
- Fill out this form with the required information.
- Finally, submit the completed form.
- a valid passport (for at least 6 months forth from the arrival date)
- printed out eVisa to Tanzania (can be in black and white)
The airport customs officer will issue you a passport stamp clearly stating the date of your return to the country.

If your country of citizenship is not listed, it is necessary to apply for a standard Embassy visa in order to visit Tanzania.
Required documents for e-Visa
Make sure you have the following documents when applying for a Tanzania e-Visa:
- Your passport. It must be valid for at least 6 months after you intend to leave the country.
- Copy of the bio page of your valid passport. You must provide a copy of your passport biography page.
- A round-trip ticket. You must present proof of a round-trip airline ticket. (Applicable if you have applied for an electronic Tourist Visa)
- Onward Ticket. Only applicable if you have applied for a Transit e-Visa.

Important Information

- Each applicant has to have a valid passport for 6 months after the planned arrival in Tanzania date
- Tanzania eVisa validity period starts on the date of entry to the country (specified in the online application form)
- The electronic Tanzania visa is not issued for any business or work-related purposes (for such purpose, an applicant needs to visit the Embassy and handle a regular visa)
- Online visa to Tanzania links directly to the travelers' passports. Thus, in case of any changes to the passport data, losing the documents, or passport expiry, eVisabecomes invalid
- Every traveler needs an online visa to cross the Tanzanian border
- There is no possibilityof extending your stay in Tanzania
