Bangladesh Entry and Travel Requirements
Bangladesh entry requirements state all the rules that a person planning to visit Bangladesh must follow to ensure a smooth entry into the country. These requirements also identify the types of documents that must be collected before arriving in Bangladesh. One of the most important documents one needs is a passport valid for at least 6 months.
In addition to a valid passport, most visitors also need to apply for a Bangladesh visa. Bangladesh's visa policy regulates which countries should apply for a visa at the embassy, at the border or online. Additionally, Bangladesh offers visa exemption to tourists from certain countries, which means they are allowed to visit Bangladesh without a visa.
Currently, this country maintains a ban on entry and transit for Israeli passport holders.
Bangladesh authorities have also introduced some additional Covid-related restrictions. Currently, fully vaccinated travelers must present a vaccination certificate. Partially vaccinated or unvaccinated passengers must provide a negative PCR test result taken 72 hours before arrival. Bangladesh also maintains quarantine requirements that apply only to unvaccinated arrivals.
All travelers must also complete an online health declaration. In addition, health authorities may carry out health checks upon arrival, regardless of the passenger's vaccination status.

Who can enter Bangladesh?
Bangladesh allows entry for all international travelers regardless of their vaccination status. Currently, only Israeli passport holders are banned from entering the country.

Testing, Vaccination, and Quarantine Requirements
Request an inspection
Passengers who cannot provide evidence of valid Covid-19 vaccination, or who cannot provide evidence that they have received their last vaccination at least 14 days before arrival in Bangladesh, must present a test Negative RT-PCR is issued no earlier than 72 hours. before scheduled departure time.
A negative pre-departure RT-PCR test result is no longer required for fully vaccinated arrivals.
Vaccination required
To be considered fully vaccinated, a person must have received all doses of vaccines recommended and approved by WHO. Also, it must take at least 14 days after receiving the last dose.
Vaccination certificates must be issued in English or another language. Holders of certificates issued in languages other than English must submit certified translations.
Travelers who have not been fully vaccinated or who have recently recovered from coronavirus are considered unvaccinated and are subject to the entry regulations applicable to those who have not been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 enough.
Quarantine required
Unvaccinated people will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period at their place of residence. If a person decides to quarantine at a designated quarantine hotel, they will need to show proof of hotel accommodation when checking in at the airport.
Bangladeshi authorities may retain the passports of all quarantined passengers and return them after the quarantine period ends. Those quarantined in hotels or government-approved quarantine centers will have to pay all costs, including any necessary coronavirus testing.
Traveling from Bangladesh
Passengers departing from Bangladesh are not required to take a Corona virus test before departure. However, a negative test result may be required to enter the country of the next travel destination.
Contact your airline for more specific information about the exit requirements you must meet to board your flight. Also, remember to check what other documents you need to prepare before departure, including visas or health declarations.
Traveling to Bangladesh
Bangladesh remains open to international tourists. Depending on the traveler's vaccination status, entry requirements may vary slightly. Fully vaccinated travelers must provide a valid vaccination certificate to be exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. Arrivals who are not fully vaccinated will be required to provide a pre-departure RT-PCR test and undergo a 14-day quarantine.
All travelers should also remember to complete an online health declaration 72 hours before departure. Since local authorities may ask you to present your passport at any time, make sure you always carry a copy of your passport when traveling to Bangladesh.
Entry Rules for Children
Covid-19 requirements
Children under 12 years old do not need to present a negative RT-PCR test report. Children over 12 years old must provide a negative PCR test result taken within 48 hours before departure.
Travelers under 18 years of age, regardless of vaccination status, are subject to the same quarantine requirements as adult members of their traveling household.
Other requirements
All minor visitors must also have a separate visa for Bangladesh. A parent or legal guardian must obtain it on their behalf.
Transit through Bangladesh
All passengers transiting through Bangladesh to another country do not need to apply for a visa as long as they remain on board the aircraft at the airport.

Electronic Visa for Bangladesh
The Government of Bangladesh has introduced an e-visa system to facilitate visa applications. There are three types of eVisa types available. Specifically, single-entry electronic visa, double-entry electronic visa and multiple-entry electronic visa. All visa types allow you to stay in Bangladesh for up to 30 days at a time.
Eligible applicants must fill out the online visa application form and submit for approval. Then, the approved e-Visa has to be obtained from the Bangladesh Embassy.

Visa on arrival
Tourists, businessmen, investors or diplomatic passport holders are allowed to apply for a visa upon arrival in Bangladesh. They must meet the following requirements:
- Have a passport valid for 6 months from the expected date of arrival
- get 500 USD or 500 euros in cash or credit
- Provide proof of booking from a hotel or travel agency in Bangladesh
- Have round-trip or onward tickets (plane/train/bus)
- Enter Bangladesh by air, sea or land (except by train)
The maximum stay in Bangladesh with a single VoA entry is 30 days. Visa on arrival can also be extended for an additional 30 days. Renewals can be carried out by the Department of Immigration and Passport.
Visitors needing to enter Bangladesh for purposes other than tourism, business or investment, as well as foreigners from non-visa exempt countries, must apply for a visa directly from the nearest embassy before entering Bangladesh. they plan to go to Bangladesh.
Passenger Locator Form
Bangladesh requires arriving travelers to complete a Passenger Health Declaration and Locator form available online. Applications must be submitted within 72 hours before the scheduled departure time. Receipt of the completed declaration form will be confirmed by airline staff.
The obligation to complete the form does not apply to all minor travelers 12 years of age or younger.
Travel Insurance
Foreign visitors to Bangladesh are not legally required to purchase travel insurance. However, it is recommended to purchase travel insurance for any international trip.
Before your trip, make sure that the insurance policy is recognized in Bangladesh. Your contract should also include medical transportation outside of Bangladesh as well as potential Covid-19 treatment costs.
